The NFL handed out individual awards following Week 7 of the regular season.
The best offensive player in the American Conference was Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. In a 41-31 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he threw 17-of-22 accurate passes with five touchdowns and a passer rating of 158.1. Lamar also gained 52 yards on carries. This is the second award of the season for Jackson. Two more in the last month were won by his teammate Derrick Henrie.
Philadelphia Eagles' running back Seiquon Barkley was honoured in the National Conference. In a 28-3 game against the New York Giants, the Eagles player racked up 176 yards on carries and a touchdown. He also had 2 receptions for 11 yards to his credit.
On defence, Denver Broncos linebacker Cody Barton and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Kobe Durant were the best. Barton returned a fumble into the end zone, made 8 tackles, a sack and induced a fumble in a 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints. Durant made an interception, a sack, picked off two passes and induced a fumble in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders (15:10).
Cincinnati Bengals kick returner Charlie Jones was named the best special teams player in the AFC. He returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns (21:14).
In the NFC, Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates, who scored the game-winning field goal against the Minnesota Vikings (31:29), was named the best special teams player. He contributed seven points for his team.
