Joel Embiid earned a suspension for arguing with a female referee.
Toward the end of the second quarter, Philadelphia's leader received an offensive foul on San Antonio big man Victor Vembanyama. Embiid was unhappy with the whistle and started an argument, for which he quickly got two technicals from Jenna Schroeder.

Joel ended up having to be calmed down by several teammates and coaches.

Earlier in the second quarter, another "76ers" center Andre Drummond was suspended by Schroder for two shoving Wembanyama. After watching the replay, the second decision was overturned and the Frenchman received a technical for simulation. Andre returned from the locker room and continued the game.

The "Sixers" managed to win with a score of 111:106. Embiid returned to the court after the final siren and celebrated the success with his teammates, but did not talk to the press.
