New York Jets acting head coach Jeff Ulbrick has stripped offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett of his playcalling privileges.

Quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Todd Downing will now assign offensive combinations.

According to insiders, former New York head coach Robert Sale was going to make a similar move prior to his firing.

Hackett was appointed to his current position because of his good relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom they worked together for 3 years with the Green Bay Packers.

Hackett led the Denver Broncos last season, but was fired before his debut season ended in a 4-11 result.
