The "New England Patriots" coaching staff made the decision to release rookie quarterback Drake Maye into the starting lineup for the game against the "Houston Texans".

This was reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Maye was selected with the No. 3 pick in the spring draft.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who won the competition in training camp, completed 52.9 percent of his passes for 160 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Week 5 against the "Miami Dolphins". The "Patriots" lost the game with 10:15 left in the game.

"New England's" passing offense is last in the league in yards gained. Brissett has never gained 200 passing yards in a game, he only has 2 passing touchdowns to his credit.

That being said, Brissett has the highest pressure of any quarterback in the NFL at 50% of dropbacks.

The "New England" vs. "Houston" matchup will take place on Sunday and will kick off at 8:00 p.m. Moscow time.
